Spooky Eyeball Halloween Cake Recipe
Our Spooky Eyeball Halloween Cake Recipe is to die for! Your little goblins and witches will be wide-eyed with excitement making this fun Halloween cake!
Ingredients
1 box Betty Crocker Super Moist devil’s food cake mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
2 containers (12 oz each) Betty Crocker Whipped fluffy white frosting (3 cups)
Betty Crocker neon gel food colors (orange, purple and lime green)
1 package (0.88 oz) Betty Crocker Candy Shop candy eyeballs

Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Grease or spray bottoms and sides of three 8-inch round cake pans.

In large bowl, beat cake mix, water, oil and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour 1 1/3 cups batter in each pan.

Bake cakes 17 to 21 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.

Divide frosting into 3 small bowls (1 cup each). Stir 1/2 teaspoon different color of food color into each bowl. Fit 3 separate decorating bags with 1/2-inch round piping tip; fill each with different color frosting. Place first cake layer on plate. Using green frosting, pipe around top edge of cake layer, forming a thick frosting border. Spread additional frosting over top of cake inside frosting border. Top with second cake layer; repeat border and filling with purple frosting. Place third cake layer on top; repeat with orange frosting. Pipe remaining frosting into mounds over top of cake, alternating colors and sizes of mounds.

Decorate as desired using candy eyeballs on frosting mounds and side of cake. Store cake covered at room temperature.

Great for cast iron! We love cooking in cast iron, but of course the pan gets hot, so you need to make sure your hand is protected while cooking. Plus at those really high temps you want to make sure your glove can handle it. So these are perfect for all cooking occasions! –
I love these gloves. For me gloves are better I can handle baking dishes better, mittens are too bumblesome for me and I get burned. I feel secure handling hot dishes cause I know I will not be burned. –

They are very helpful when baking. I do not get burned. My last pair are still very serviceable. However, they have been used so long it’s just time to retire them. On the other hand. These are cheaply made. Many loose strings inside the fingers and uni handed. My old ones had a right and left hand. Much more comfortable. These are also much lighter weight. –
I am happy with this pot holder. Surprised by the quality as most seen on TV stuff is junk. I am prone to burns and think these gloves will offer “superior protection”! They are a tad big on me but that is not a hindrance. But, they are just right on my adult son. –

My ove glove has been down many paths. Between Grill and Stove and old age it has seen better days. The fact that the fingers are separate makes the grip easier and safer so less chance of dropping the food. –
These are the original OVE gloves, they are the best pot holders available. I use them to check baked potatoes on the grill to make sure they are done. Then just remove the baked potatoes and corn right off the grill. These will protect your hands removing just about anything from an oven or grill. Well worth the price. –
